The Institute has been involved in cooperative research with a number of individuals, groups and institutions in the North East of England, exploring with them issues that are significant for education, pastoral care and mission in their own context.
These pieces of action research include:
- Attitudes to the Bible among churchgoers
- Church schools survey
- The moral life of secondary schools
- Views of teachers in Roman Catholic schools
- Religious attitudes and practices in congregations
- Doctrinal and ethical understanding of churchgoers (see also ordinary theology project)
- Evaluation of Christian education materials
- Moral values of teenagers
- Evaluation of adult Christian education programmes
